Kumho Petrochemical Listed as S&P Sustainability Yearbook 'Member' for Three Consecutive Years
Ranked in the Top 9% of Global Chemical Companies
Improved Governance Score and Proven ESG Competitiveness
Kumho Petrochemical has reaffirmed its sustainable management capabilities by maintaining strong performance in global ESG evaluations for three consecutive years.
On February 27, Kumho Petrochemical announced that it has been listed as a "Member" for the third consecutive year in the "Sustainability Yearbook 2026" published by S&P Global, a leading global credit rating agency.
S&P Global conducts an annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) of companies worldwide and selects the top-performing companies by industry to be featured in its annual report. This year, only 37 companies—representing the top 9% among 409 global chemical industry firms—were included in the yearbook. Among Korean chemical companies, only three, including Kumho Petrochemical, were listed. Kumho Petrochemical has demonstrated its competitiveness in sustainable management by making the list for three consecutive years since 2024.
In the CSA evaluation conducted in 2025, Kumho Petrochemical achieved a total score of 66, ranking in the 96th percentile within its industry. Notably, in the Governance category, the company received 69 points, an increase of 4 points from the previous year, reflecting significant improvement. The company explained that this positive result was due to strengthening supply chain management strategies through third-party assessments and establishing information security and anti-corruption compliance policies, which contributed to a more transparent management environment.
Additionally, for the second consecutive year, Kumho Petrochemical was selected as an "ESG Top-Rated Company 2026" by the global ESG rating agency Sustainalytics. The company was also recognized as an "Industry ESG Leader," once again demonstrating its top-tier risk management capabilities within the chemical sector.
Paek Jonghun, CEO of Kumho Petrochemical, stated, "We will not settle for temporary improvement in indicators but will further enhance our practical ESG risk management capabilities throughout all business processes to strengthen our global competitiveness."
