View original imageOn February 27, Soongsil University G-LAMP Project Group announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NYU to strengthen academic and research cooperation. This agreement was established to foster partnerships with NYU's major colleges and medical research institutes across engineering, natural sciences, and bio-related fields. Through this, the goal is to expand international joint research and promote personnel exchanges in the field of AI-based bio convergence research.
Under the agreement, the two institutions plan to pursue cooperation in various areas, including: strengthening academic and research collaboration; exchanging professors and researchers; facilitating exchanges of undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral researchers; jointly organizing symposia, seminars, and workshops; and conducting joint research in areas of mutual interest.
Kang Wi-kyung, Head of the Soongsil University G-LAMP Project Group, stated, "This agreement marks the starting point for collaboration aimed at promoting practical joint research in AI-based bio fields and nurturing the next generation of convergence research talent," adding, "We will continue to expand international exchange and joint research opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers."

Meanwhile, the Soongsil University G-LAMP Project Group has been selected for the University Basic Research Institute Support Project funded by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, receiving a research grant totaling 25 billion won over the next five years. Based on this, the AI Bio Convergence Research Center is conducting convergence research in AI and basic sciences.
