Former Deputy Minister for Trade Jeong Daejin Appointed Chairman of the Korea Automobile & Mobility Industry Association

The Korea Automobile & Mobility Industry Association announced that it held its regular general meeting on the 25th and appointed former Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Deputy Minister for Trade Jeong Daejin as its 19th chairman.
Chairman Jeong entered public service by passing the 37th Higher Civil Service Examination and has served in key positions in the fields of industrial policy, investment promotion, and creative industries at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. As Director General for Trade Policy and Deputy Minister for Trade, he has overseen external trade issues related to Korean industries.
The association explained that Chairman Jeong Daejin is the right person to lead the association amid protectionist trends and changes in trade regulations in major countries such as the United States and the European Union, based on his broad understanding and insight into the automobile industry and trade policy.

The association added that, through leadership capable of simultaneously pursuing continuity and innovation in its operations, he is expected to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's automobile industry and advancing the transition to future mobility. Chairman Jeong is scheduled to hold an inauguration ceremony on March 3 and officially begin his duties as the 19th chairman.
