Mediana Expands Wearable ECG Solution Business in General Hospitals
Supply Contract Signed with Gumi Gangdong Hospital Following Medifield Hangang
Selvas AI affiliate and medical device specialist Mediana announced on the 23rd that it has signed a contract with Gumi Gangdong Hospital to supply a wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) solution.
This contract is the second general hospital contract, following the one signed last month with Medifield Hangang Hospital in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, which has about 300 beds. Gumi Gangdong Hospital is a general hospital with 203 beds. It operates major departments such as internal medicine and surgery, and serves as a regional base medical institution providing medical services to patients in the Gumi area and nearby regions.
When considering the introduction of wearable ECG, Gumi Gangdong Hospital reviewed a structure for integrated monitoring that would cover the entire hospital operation, rather than simple wireless monitoring. In response, Mediana provided a wired/wireless integrated solution that connects wearable ECG and fall detection functions to its existing wired patient monitoring devices (PMD), enabling management of patients in intensive care units, general wards, and even ambulatory patients on a single platform.
Since launching its new wearable ECG business, Mediana has rapidly secured consecutive general hospital contracts in a short period of time, expanding hospital adoption cases. In addition to Gumi Gangdong Hospital, more than 200 hospitals are currently in talks to introduce the solution, so the company expects the number of contracted beds per month to exceed 1,000 starting next month.
