Seongnam City to Host First Hope Seongnam Talk Concert of the Year, Inviting Parent Education Expert
Professor Cho Sunmi to Deliver Lecture at City Hall on February 24

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) has invited Professor Cho Sunmi of the Department of Psychiatry at Ajou University School of Medicine, a scholar widely recognized as an expert in parent education, as the speaker for this year's first "Hope Seongnam Talk Concert."

View original imageThe lecture will be held at 1:20 p.m. on February 24 on the first floor of City Hall, in the Onnuri hall.
The theme of the talk concert is "The Evolving Wisdom of Parents Alongside a Child's Growth."
Professor Cho will explain parents' roles and parenting approaches tailored to each stage of a child's development, and will also stress the need to balance affection and discipline.
She will also address the goals of parenting, including helping children regulate their own emotions, develop problem-solving skills, and grow into mature members of their groups and of society who can adapt in a healthy way.
Professor Cho graduated from the Department of Psychology at Korea University and obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the same university.

For more than 30 years, she has been conducting psychological assessments and operating treatment programs for children, and has served as vice president of the Korean Clinical Psychology Association and as an advisory committee member of a child and adolescent mental health center.
