Returned to the bereaved family after about 70 years through the Ministry of National Defense's "Finding the Heroes of the Order of Military Merit" campaign
Gyeongju City announced that on the 12th it presented the Order of Military Merit, the medal certificate, and a commemorative plaque to the bereaved family of the late Master Sergeant Ju Seokjong, who devoted himself to the country during the Korean War.
This presentation of the medal was carried out through the Ministry of National Defense's ongoing "Finding the Heroes of the Korean War Order of Military Merit" campaign.
This project seeks out recipients and their bereaved families who were designated to receive medals during the war but were unable to receive them at the time due to urgent battlefield conditions and other circumstances, in order to restore their honor.
