Iljin Electric Wins 110 Billion Won Yeonggwang Solar Transmission Line Project
Iljin Electric announced on the 12th that it has won an order worth about 110 billion won for the construction of transmission lines for a 90MW-class solar power generation project underway in Yeonggwang County, South Jeolla Province.
This project involves connecting to the grid the electricity produced at the "Yeonggwang Solar Power Complex," which is being developed by KE&E Co., Ltd. in Yeomsan-myeon, Yeonggwang County, South Jeolla Province. It is a project to build transmission lines over a section of approximately 54km, stretching from Yeonggwang through Hampyeong to Gwangju Metropolitan City. This contract is highly significant in that it is both the longest-distance and the highest-value transmission line construction project ever ordered in the domestic civilian market.

First, it will manufacture and supply, using its own technology, 154kV extra-high-voltage cables, which are the core of power transmission, along with all related accessories. It will then directly lead the installation of conduits for cable laying and the civil engineering works along the entire 54km section from Yeonggwang to Gwangju, and will carry out the entire remaining process by integrating the final stages of conductor installation and precision jointing work.
The Yeonggwang solar power plant is a large-scale 90MW renewable energy complex, and advanced extra-high-voltage power grid technology is essential to stably transmit the clean energy produced there to Gwangju Metropolitan City, an urban area. Based on its high-quality extra-high-voltage cable technology, Iljin Electric plans to minimize power loss and maximize system reliability.
