Gyeonggi Province has been selected as the top-rated local government for the fourth consecutive year, receiving the highest grade in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "2025 Information Disclosure Comprehensive Evaluation."
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it received the highest grade with a score of 96.89 out of 100 in the evaluation conducted on a total of 561 institutions, including central government agencies, local governments, and public institutions. This is 3.65 points higher than the average score of 93.24 for metropolitan cities and provinces.
The Information Disclosure Comprehensive Evaluation is a system in which the Ministry of the Interior and Safety inspects the overall operation of information disclosure at public institutions every year.
The evaluation items cover 5 areas and 12 indicators: (1) proactive information disclosure (35 points), (2) original document disclosure (20 points), (3) processing of information disclosure requests (30 points), (4) customer management (15 points), and (5) system operation (additional or deduction points). The results are classified into four grades: highest, excellent, average, and insufficient.
Gyeonggi Province received high marks in the area of proactive information disclosure by providing information in advance.
Proactive information disclosure is a system in which public institutions provide residents in advance with key information that they hold and manage. Gyeonggi Province reflected residents' demand for information through analysis of search terms on its website and, as of 2025, disclosed 728 items of proactive information across nine areas, including taxation, legal affairs, administration, education, and employment. It also operated an information disclosure monitoring group to improve the appropriateness and operational status of the information disclosure system for residents.
The province also received positive evaluations for complying with processing deadlines for information disclosure requests, providing sufficient information, and presenting clear legal grounds.
