Through this discount event, the county hopes to prevent holiday spending from flowing out to large retailers or to other regions, and to directly help increase sales at traditional markets and small businesses within the county.
The card- and mobile-type gift certificates can be topped up to a maximum of 500,000 won per person via the "Jiyok Gift Certificate Chak" app, and 20% of the payment amount is immediately accumulated as cashback, offering residents a very tangible benefit. Paper gift certificates can be purchased up to a monthly limit of 500,000 won at 45 financial institutions within the county.
The Goheung Sarang Gift Certificate can be used at approximately 2,490 affiliated stores in the county, including restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets, and medical clinics.
Goheung County Mayor Gong Youngmin said, "By using the Goheung Sarang Gift Certificate during the Lunar New Year holiday, residents can reduce their grocery-shopping costs while also supporting local businesses," adding, "We hope that both residents and returning visitors will enjoy a frugal and warm Lunar New Year by making active use of the Goheung Sarang Gift Certificate."
