At the Moran Folk 5-Day Market, Mayor Shin used the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate to personally purchase items such as fruit and rice cakes while listening closely to the merchants, and exchanged New Year’s greetings with citizens shopping at the market, asking them to help revitalize the local economy by using the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate and traditional markets.
He then visited the Seongnam Jungang Underground Shopping Center to inspect the construction sites for facility and environment improvement projects, including entrance upgrades, the creation of customer rest areas, and the installation of walking paths, and met with merchants inside the shopping center to listen to their difficulties and commend them for their hard work.
Meanwhile, following this day’s visit, Mayor Shin will visit Jungang Public Market on the 12th, and Hadaewon Public Market, Geumho Happiness Market, Kokkiri Market, Dolgorae Market, Eunhaeng Market, and Namhansanseong Market in succession on the 13th to continue encouraging merchants and conducting on-site inspections.
Seongnam City stated that it recognizes the significant difficulties merchants are facing due to price increases caused by the economic downturn, and that, in order to ease household burdens for citizens and provide practical help to merchants, it began selling the Seongnam Love Gift Certificate at a special 10% discount starting February 2. In addition, from March, the city plans to raise the regular discount rate from the current 6% to 8%.
The city announced that during the Lunar New Year holiday period, it will implement a comprehensive plan for the holiday so that all citizens can spend the season with peace of mind, and will continue citizen-centered administration in areas such as safety, transportation, convenience, quarantine, prices, sharing, and the establishment of public service discipline.
