Gwangju Seo-gu Expands Resident-Led Reading Culture
Promoting the "Chaekssiat" Activity Support Project...
Recruiting 30 Teams Until the 19th
Gwangju Seo-gu District is promoting the reading club "Chaekssiat" support project to revitalize resident-led reading culture and to expand communication and sharing through books.
This year, Seo-gu will select a total of 30 reading clubs, provide discussion books and meeting spaces, and also offer capacity-building training necessary for club operations.
In addition, it will support a wide range of activities through programs such as the "Reading Club Book Review Group" and the "Reading Themed Books Together" program that utilizes the Good Reading Method. At the end of the year, it also plans to select outstanding reading clubs, publish and distribute the activity collection "Chaekmajung," which will include members' book reviews and activity records, and share the outcomes of club activities with the local community.
Applications are open until February 19, 2026, and any reading club of five or more members that is active in Seo-gu and holds regular meetings at least once a month is eligible to participate. To apply, applicants should prepare the required documents from the Seo-gu Integrated Library website and either visit Sangnok Library in person or submit them by email.
