Centering on the Transportation Administration Division, Pocheon City is promoting improvements to the winter public transportation environment and is gradually installing windbreak screens at bus shelters within the city. In addition, each town, township, and neighborhood is carrying out its own projects in parallel, taking into account local conditions and actual usage patterns by residents, thereby strengthening on-site responsiveness.
In particular, Gasan-myeon independently identified tasks with high perceived impact for residents and implemented preemptive on-site administration. The Gasan-myeon Administrative Welfare Center swiftly carried out the project focusing on bus stops with high passenger volume and completed the installation of windbreak screens at 13 bus shelters in the area on February 2.
This windbreak installation project is significant in that it substantially alleviated the inconvenience of residents using public transportation during the ongoing winter cold wave by swiftly carrying out the entire process, from collecting residents' opinions to selecting target sites and completing installation.
Since the installation, there has been continued positive feedback that the overall waiting environment for public transportation has improved, and the level of satisfaction felt by residents who use buses during commuting hours is also high.
