Jeonnam Office Of Education Vows To Ensure Safe Commutes To School... Intensive Inspections Ahead Of New Semester
Comprehensive inspection of fine dust, facilities, and more
Urgent consultation with education support offices on budget-related issues
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education is launching a large-scale safety inspection ahead of the upcoming new school year to create a safe educational environment for students. On the 4th, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced that it will conduct school-level self-inspections and joint inspections led by local education support offices for all schools in the province.
From the 9th to the 25th, the provincial office will operate a joint inspection team consisting of personnel in charge of each field, including facilities, health, school meals, and industrial safety. The team plans to focus on seven key areas, including commuting safety, management of fine dust and drinking water, facility safety, and dormitory safety.
The actual operation status of disaster safety supplies and teaching aids placed on-site will also be thoroughly inspected. Simple or urgent risk factors identified during the inspections will be immediately repaired or reinforced to prevent any safety gaps. Issues that require large-scale budget input or a longer period of time will be addressed by establishing systematic improvement measures in consultation with the relevant education support office.
In addition to this intensive inspection, the provincial office plans to foster a culture of voluntary inspections at frontline schools through the "Creating Safe Schools 365 Days a Year" campaign. It also plans to designate and operate a "Safety Inspection Day" every month and to build a seamless safety net in cooperation with related institutions.
