Socar is introducing a compensation service for flight delays and cancellations for users traveling to and from Jeju.
Socar announced on the 4th that it will launch a year-round campaign, "Stress Free," to ease inconveniences and burdens experienced during the car-sharing process. The company explained that this campaign was designed to eliminate difficulties users face throughout the entire process, from renting to returning vehicles.

View original imageFirst, it will introduce a "Flight Delay and Cancellation Care Service" for travelers to Jeju. If a flight to Jeju is delayed or canceled, Socar will either fully refund the usage fee for the time the vehicle could not be used, or adjust the rental period to match the revised schedule.
If a visit to Jeju is canceled due to a flight cancellation, the entire payment amount will be refunded. Conversely, if a flight departing from Jeju to the mainland is delayed, the vehicle rental period will be extended free of charge for the duration of the delay.
For example, if a trip to Jeju is canceled because the flight is canceled, users can receive a full refund of the payment without any cancellation fee. If the start of the rental is delayed by 2 hours because the arriving flight to Jeju is delayed, Socar will refund the amount corresponding to those 2 hours from the original payment. If a flight from Jeju to the mainland is delayed due to worsening weather conditions, the rental period can be extended free of charge for the duration of the delay.
This service is automatically applied when users reserve a vehicle at a Jeju Socar Zone with the "Full Coverage" option and enter their flight number.
Even before this campaign, Socar had implemented various service improvements for user convenience. Representative examples include "Free EV Driving Fees," which waives driving fees for electric vehicles regardless of mileage, and "Bureum Parking Fee Guarantee," which fully refunds parking fees incurred when using the "Bureum" service that allows users to have vehicles delivered to and picked up from their desired locations.
