"Ne Zha 2," Which Rewrote Global Animation Box-Office History, Lands in Korea on the 25th
Mischievous Panda-Like Hero and a Battle Featuring 200 Million Characters
Immersion Boosted by Korean Voice Dubbing from Jung Jiso, Jo Byeonggyu, and More
"Ne Zha 2," which has rewritten global box-office history for animated films, is coming to Korean audiences. Its release has been confirmed for the 25th of this month, and it will bring the reality behind its 3 trillion won box-office legend to the big screen.
"Ne Zha 2" is an action fantasy that follows the adventures of Ne Zha, a superhumanly strong hero who resembles a panda. The film tells the story that unfolds as he becomes entangled in a massive war between monsters and humans. Based on East Asian mythology, it uniquely visualizes a world filled with all kinds of animal-shaped monsters and immortals, promising a spectacle with a distinctly different flavor from existing animated films.
For its Korean release, what stands out is the dazzling voice cast lineup. To help Korean audiences immerse themselves in the story, star actors who move between the big screen and the small screen have all come together. Jung Jiso from the Netflix series "The Glory" and Jo Byeonggyu from "The Uncanny Counter" play the lead roles, while veteran actors such as Son Hyunjoo and Lee Pilmo join in to breathe life into the characters.
The clear highlight of the film is its overwhelming scale. It was completed after five years of work by more than 4,000 staff members across 138 studios. In particular, the climactic large-scale battle scene, where gods, humans, and monsters become entangled, delivers a powerful visual impact. This single sequence alone took one year and six months to complete, and the number of characters that appear on screen reaches an astonishing 200 million.
