According to the county, Yeongam Mall currently has about 30,000 members, but a recently signed agreement to build a joint system has opened up the possibility of expanding that number to as many as 800,000 members.
On January 28, Yeongam County signed a "Namdo Jangteo–City/County Mall Joint System Construction Business Agreement" at the South Jeolla Provincial Government building with South Jeolla Province, Namdo Jangteo, Goheung County, and Wando County.
The core of this agreement is to integrate key functions such as ordering, payment, settlement, and membership management for the online agricultural and specialty products marketplaces of the three counties, including Yeongam Mall, into the management system of Namdo Jangteo, which is South Jeolla Province's online agricultural and specialty products marketplace.
The county expects that, since only the management system will be integrated while local brands and the operational independence of each city and county mall are maintained as they are, marketing and operations that leverage the unique characteristics of Yeongam Mall will continue.
With the establishment of the joint system, Yeongam Mall users will be able to enjoy online shopping in a more secure environment, and companies listed on Yeongam Mall will gain a foundation to promote their agricultural and specialty products to approximately 800,000 Namdo Jangteo members.
In particular, it is expected to have a strong effect on expanding membership, as Namdo Jangteo members can be automatically linked and registered as Yeongam Mall members by going through a few simple steps, such as consenting to the provision of personal information.
Taking this agreement as an opportunity, Yeongam County plans to rapidly and significantly increase Yeongam Mall membership in a short period of time by implementing aggressive marketing strategies such as consent-based promotional events, additional point accumulation, and joint special sales events by the three counties.
In addition, the county plans to strengthen sales support using live commerce to expand communication between producers and consumers, and at the same time promote higher sales for listed companies by diversifying sales methods.
The county expects these changes to have a positive impact on expanding sales channels for local agricultural and specialty products and increasing farm household income, and plans to work with the Yeongam County Council to secure budgets for promotional events and other related initiatives.

Lee Seungjun, head of the Distribution Industry Division of Yeongam County, said, "By participating in the Namdo Jangteo joint system, we expect to significantly increase the number of Yeongam Mall members and dramatically improve sales," adding, "Through cooperative sales with cities and counties across South Jeolla Province, we will ensure that agricultural and specialty products from Yeongam are loved by consumers nationwide, beyond the borders of South Jeolla."
