Hana Securities and DataGen Launch Korea's First "Handon" Livestock Investment Contract Security Public Offering
Hana Securities announced on January 29 that it will launch a public offering for the first "Livestock Investment Contract Security No. 1," based on domestically raised pork (Handon), in collaboration with DataGen Co., Ltd.
This product is a real asset-based investment contract security that organizes the entire process-from purchasing Handon as the underlying asset, to breeding, shipping, and selling-into a single joint business. Investors acquire co-ownership rights to the underlying asset according to their proportion of securities held and share in the profits and losses.
The total offering amount is 216.24 million won, with each unit priced at 20,000 won and a total of 10,812 units available. Subscriptions are open to Hana Securities account holders only, and can be made on the Findon website until February 11.
In this project, Hana Securities supported DataGen over approximately one and a half years, providing advisory and structural design services for the entire issuance process of the Handon investment contract security, from product structuring and public offering to subscription and fund management. In particular, the profit distribution structure and investor protection mechanisms were meticulously designed, making it possible for general investors to participate in an investment contract security based on a real asset such as Handon.
The two companies aim to validate the entire process-public offering, operation, and settlement-of investment contract securities based on Handon within the institutional framework through this public offering. They also plan to standardize public offerings by sequentially issuing additional products with the same structure in the future.
Furthermore, Hana Securities and DataGen are considering the potential to expand into digital securities based on the investment contract security structure, in line with the future legalization of security token offerings (STO).

Cho Daeheon, Head of AI Digital Strategy at Hana Securities, stated, "This Handon investment contract security is the first case in which Hana Securities provided issuance advisory services leading to a public offering," adding, "It is the result of our long-term preparation for the token securities market." He continued, "Based on this case, we plan to expand issuance advisory services to venture and small-to-medium-sized enterprises facing difficulties in issuing investment contract securities, and to broaden our business scope to include the issuance of token securities in the future."
