From Local to Global... Busan City to Host 'Bookitech Investment Show and Startup Investor Summit'
Busan Metropolitan City is hosting an investment attraction event to support the global growth of local companies.
On January 26, Busan City announced that it will hold the "2026 Bookitech Investment Show X Startup Investor Summit" at the Asti Hotel Busan in Dong-gu from January 29 to 30.
This event is co-hosted by Busan City and the Korea Early Investment Accelerator Association and organized by the Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute. It combines the "Bookitech Investment Show," the region’s flagship investor relations (IR) program, with a startup investor expert forum. Promising local companies, fund managers operating Busan City-created funds, and investment firms from the Seoul metropolitan area will participate. During the event, there will be IR presentations, investment consultations, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions.
This is the first event jointly organized by Busan City and the Korea Early Investment Accelerator Association since the association established its Southeastern Regional Headquarters at the Busan Eurasia Platform in November 2025. Busan City plans to use this event as an opportunity to enhance the sustainability of the local startup ecosystem and expand global growth opportunities for local companies through ongoing collaboration.
To expand local investment, Busan City has been creating Busan-style funds. Over the past two years, more than 500 billion won has been raised through the 2024 Future Growth Venture Fund and the 2025 Innovation Scale-Up Venture Fund, and the city expects this to have a tangible effect on expanding local investment.
In partnership with the Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute, Busan City is also preparing programs to strengthen investment connections from early-stage startups to growth-stage and initial public offering (IPO). The "Bookitech Investment Show" will be expanded to a regular event held four times a year and will be linked with local startup programs. Regular "Bookitech Investment Roadshows" will be held in the Seoul metropolitan area to attract investment, along with ongoing networking programs between metropolitan and local investment firms.
In addition, Busan City plans to participate in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ regional growth fund competition, aiming to create a startup and venture capital mother fund of 100 billion won annually for three consecutive years. Separate investments will also be made to support early-stage startups and university and student-founded companies.
