View original imageHyperkeratosis is a condition in which the stratum corneum of the skin becomes abnormally thick, resulting in rough and hardened skin. If the shedding of dead skin cells does not occur smoothly, symptoms such as skin flaking, discoloration, or prominent pores may appear.
Keranon Ointment is an over-the-counter medication formulated with a combination of urea and salicylic acid. The main ingredient, urea, increases the moisture content of the stratum corneum, softening thickened skin. The 5% salicylic acid content helps both alleviate and remove dead skin cells through its keratolytic action.
In addition, it contains dexpanthenol and shea butter to soothe skin irritation after exfoliation and enhance moisturizing effects. The ointment uses a coating balm formulation that adheres closely to the skin, improving the sealing of active ingredients and helping the moisturizing effect last longer.
