Yongin City: "Borrow Books Not in Libraries from Bookstores"
'Hope Book Direct Loan System' to Launch Next Year
Up to 2 Books Per Month Can Be Requested at 21 Local Bookstores
Starting next year, residents of Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province will be able to borrow and read books not available in libraries directly from local bookstores.
On December 30, Yongin City announced that it will implement the 'Hope Book Direct Loan System' beginning January 2 of next year.
This system allows users to request books not owned by the library and borrow them directly from local bookstores. Any full member of the Yongin City Library can request and borrow new books from bookstores within the region.
Each person can request up to 2 books per month and up to 10 books per year. The loan period is 14 days, with a one-time extension of 7 days available. After finishing the book, borrowers simply return it to the bookstore where it was borrowed, and the book will then be purchased by the library and added to its collection.
A total of 21 bookstores are participating. In Cheoin-gu, the 5 participating bookstores are: Myungji Bookstore (Yeokbuk-dong), Binkan Noliteo (Mapyeong-dong), Saenggageul Damneun Jip (Wonsam-myeon), Yongin Bookstore (Kimryangjang-dong), and Choegang Bookstore (Pogok-eup).
In Giheung-gu, the 7 participating bookstores are: Gugaldaeji Bookstore (Gugal-dong), Geunyang Chaekbang (Singal-dong), Dongbaek Bookstore (Jung-dong), Banseok Bookstore (Mabuk-dong), Bora Bookstore (Bora-dong), Book Salon Bot (Bojung-dong), and Hanul Bookstore (Bojung-dong).
In Suji-gu, the 9 participating bookstores are: Daekwang Bookstore, Vision Bookstore, Suji Sanghyeon Bookstore (all in Sanghyeon-dong), Suji Bookstore, Suji Bookstore Academy Supply Store, Hansol Books (all in Pungdeokcheon-dong), Sinbong Bookstore (Sinbong-dong), Uju Sonyeon, and Hana Bookstore (both in Dongcheon-dong).
