The selection process involved a comprehensive evaluation of artistic merit, potential for expanding their work, and concrete project plans, based on portfolio and document reviews.
Jae-seok Han has explored the phenomenon of "feedback" and subtle changes within repetition through sound installations and performances. He plans to present a multichannel sound installation capturing the acoustic environment of Paris. Youngju Lim is an artist who has worked with technologies such as VR, AI, and 3D scanning, focusing on themes of belief and uncertainty. She is planning a VR-based project that investigates vanished places in Paris and addresses the layers of time.
The two artists will each participate in the residency from April to September 2026 and from October 2026 to March 2027, respectively. The Samsung Foundation of Culture will provide airfare, living expenses, and activity support.
