Gyeongju City Awards 8 Million Won in Incentives to 94 Households for Energy Savings
Expansion of Voluntary Participation in the "Gyeongju-Style Energy Saving Incentive Program"
On December 23, Gyeongju City announced that it will award a total of 8 million won in incentives to 94 households that achieved outstanding results in energy savings as part of the "Gyeongju-Style Energy Saving Incentive Program," which was launched to encourage voluntary energy conservation among citizens.
The "Gyeongju-Style Energy Saving Incentive Program" was established to help alleviate the burden on citizens caused by increases in electricity and city gas rates, as well as to promote a culture of energy conservation in daily life.
The program provides incentives to households that reduce their electricity or city gas consumption by a certain percentage compared to the previous year.
Households that reduced their electricity or city gas usage by 5% or more compared to the previous year will receive a reward of 50,000 won, while those that achieved a reduction of 10% or more will receive 100,000 won. The rewards will be provided in the form of Gyeongju Pay or Onnuri gift certificates.
Among the 94 households receiving rewards, the electricity savings category includes 28 households, with 19 of them achieving a reduction of 5% or more. In the city gas savings category, there are 66 households, with 19 achieving a reduction of 5% or more and 47 achieving a reduction of 10% or more.
Previously, in February, Gyeongju City conducted an open recruitment for households to participate in the incentive program. With the cooperation of Korea Electric Power Corporation and Seorabeol City Gas, the city compared and analyzed energy usage data from the previous year and this year to determine the recipients of the rewards.
