Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province provided homes to a total of 157 households this year through a renovation project for aging houses, targeting basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.

View original imageAccording to the city on December 22, this year’s renovation project for aging houses was funded by a combined budget of 432 million won from the lottery fund and city funds. The project exceeded its original target of 72 households by 218%, ultimately benefiting 157 households.
Specifically, the city provided up to 6 million won per household for renovations, focusing on improving living spaces and energy efficiency. The support included window and boiler replacements, wall and roof insulation, installation of security facilities, and kitchen and bathroom renovations.
A satisfaction survey conducted among the supported households recorded a high satisfaction score of over 98 points.
Since 2006, the city has supported renovations for a total of 6,268 aging households (with 18.983 billion won in support), including green remodeling and installation of convenience facilities.
Kim Seongsu, Director of Architecture at Jeonju City, said, "We are pleased that residents struggling in poor living conditions can now enjoy a more comfortable and convenient home life. As this project has received high satisfaction from the beneficiaries, we will carefully plan next year’s project so that even more people can benefit."
