Police Detain and Refer Man in His 20s for Killing His Mother
A man in his 20s accused of beating his mother in her 50s to death has been handed over to prosecutors.
The Guro Police Station in Seoul announced on the 19th that Lee (23) was recently detained and referred to the prosecution on charges of parricide.
According to the police, Lee is accused of fatally beating his mother with a blunt object and a knife at their home in Guro District around 6 p.m. on the 13th. He was arrested by the police after his father reported the incident.

It was confirmed that earlier in March, Lee had been involuntarily hospitalized by the police for delusional behavior while in possession of a knife, but was later discharged based on the hospital's assessment.
