Upbit Awards BTC Scholarships Worth 5 Million Won Each to 100 Young People
Dunamu, the operator of the virtual asset exchange Upbit, announced on December 19 that it has launched the “Upbit Cheer up!” project to support people preparing for their future.
This project is a series of campaigns aimed at supporting individuals who are striving at new starting points such as academics, career paths, and economic activities. As an extension of the "Future Generation Support Campaign" held earlier this year, the scope of support has been expanded to all generations.
The first campaign, "Upbit Cheer up Scholarship," is a program designed to help young people facing financial burdens while preparing for their future. A total of 100 recipients will be selected, each receiving a scholarship in the form of Bitcoin (BTC) worth 5 million won per person. The purpose is to support expenses needed for expanding future possibilities and exploring career paths, such as tuition, certification preparation, and job training.
Eligible applicants include current, on-leave, and prospective university (including graduate school) students in Korea. Applications can be submitted by the individual or an immediate family member until 5:00 p.m. on January 22 of next year. After completing customer verification (KYC) on Upbit, applicants simply need to click the "Participate" button on the scholarship application page. Further details can be found in the Upbit announcements.
After the scholarship support program, Dunamu plans to sequentially expand its support programs for all generations.
