ACE US S&P500 ETF Surpasses 3 Trillion Won in Net Assets
Korea Investment Management announced on December 19 that the net asset value (NAV) of the ACE US S&P500 Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) has surpassed 3 trillion won.
According to the Korea Exchange, the NAV of the ACE US S&P500 ETF reached 3.0064 trillion won as of December 18.
This ETF tracks the Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 Index as its underlying benchmark. Launched in August 2020, it is Korea Investment Management’s flagship US index-tracking ETF, and is the second product in the ACE ETF lineup to exceed 3 trillion won in NAV, following the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF.
The ACE US S&P500 ETF has seen steady inflows from individual investors, reflecting ongoing interest. According to the Korea Exchange, the net purchases by individual investors in this ETF from the beginning of 2025 through December amounted to 534.5 billion won.
Over the past year, the ETF delivered a return of 16.07%, ranking third in performance among similar ETFs (excluding leveraged and active products). It achieved a 103.85% return over the past three years, and a cumulative return of 169.92% since inception.
The ACE US S&P500 ETF is a currency-unhedged product, meaning it does not employ a currency hedging strategy. As a result, gains from the appreciation of the US dollar against the Korean won are reflected in returns. In fact, during the past month when the average exchange rate exceeded 1,470 won per dollar, the ETF’s return rose by 1.72%, compared to a 1.63% increase in the S&P500 Index.
Nam Yongsoo, Head of ETF Management at Korea Investment Management, stated, “The ACE US S&P500 ETF has established itself as a long-term asset allocation tool for individual investors, thanks to its high liquidity and the advantages of currency exposure.”
He added, “Since the portfolio is composed mainly of leading US blue-chip companies, this ETF provides an optimized solution for investors seeking both long-term growth in the US market and the benefits of currency exposure. We will continue to strengthen our position as Korea’s leading overseas ETF by focusing on investor-oriented product management and service enhancements.”
The ACE US S&P500 ETF is a performance-based product, and past returns do not guarantee future results. Investors should also be aware that principal losses may occur depending on management outcomes.
