Police Summon Jeon Jaesu as Suspect in "Unification Church Bribery Allegations"
The police will summon Jeon Jaesu, former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, as a suspect for questioning at the National Police Agency at 10:00 a.m. on December 19.
Jeon is accused of accepting a cash payment of 20 million won and a Bulgari watch worth approximately 10 million won from the Unification Church around 2018 (on charges of bribery).
The police suspect that these gifts may have been intended as bribes in connection with the Unification Church’s long-standing project to promote the Korea-Japan undersea tunnel.
