Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) successfully held the "2025 Gangwon Regional Industry Policy Workshop" on December 18 at Sono Calm Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon, with more than 300 participants from academia, research institutes, industry, and government.

View original imageFirst launched in 2006, the Gangwon Regional Industry Policy Workshop marks its 20th anniversary this year and has established itself as a flagship event symbolizing industrial policy cooperation in Gangwon Province.
What began as a small-scale policy discussion involving three innovation institutions has now grown into the largest industrial policy cooperation platform in Gangwon Province, bringing together 24 innovation institutions, universities, and companies.
The collaborative network built over the past 20 years has become a valuable asset for the Gangwon industrial ecosystem. This event served as a meaningful occasion to share past achievements and explore future development strategies.
During the event, awards were presented to those who contributed to the development of Gangwon's strategic industries, and in-depth discussions were held on policies to foster regional industries and directions for new industrial development.
In particular, during the keynote lectures, Choi Jimin, Ph.D., from the Korea Research Institute for Local Administration, presented new roles and tasks for Gangwon Province under the theme "The Direction of the Five Poles and Three Special Zones Initiative and the Tasks for Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province." Hwang Kyusun, Executive Director of Wizcore, shared practical approaches to digital transformation through "DX·AX Cases of Manufacturing and IT Convergence."
Through subsequent thematic lectures and presentations of best practices by outstanding companies, participants exchanged a wide range of experiences and know-how on nurturing future new industries and driving digital innovation in Gangwon Province.
