This workshop was organized to enhance the capabilities of policy officials, including senior officials at Grade 4 or higher from the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, and to provide a forum for discussion on how to connect the policy research results conducted in 2025 to practical policy-making.
Participants shared a variety of research projects undertaken by the institute this year, along with plans for their application by each cooperating department, and discussed what policy responses are needed for the next stage of development in Daejeon’s education system.
The workshop was energized by the participation of over 100 people, including the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent, senior staff, education professionals, general staff, members of the Policy Research Review Committee, and the Policy Research Management Committee.
Attendees showed great interest as they actively exchanged opinions on how research outcomes could meet the needs of the field and what aspects should be further improved in the actual policy process.
This year, the Daejeon Education Policy Research Institute further advanced the operation of the workshop. The institute established an online platform for the Daejeon Education Policy Workshop and implemented a "paperless event" using 100 tablet PCs, creating a more efficient and participatory environment.
Participants were able to review the key contents and materials of the research projects online in advance, and could leave feedback on each project not only during the event but also after it had concluded. With researchers and coordinators providing real-time responses, a culture of interactive discussion naturally took root, moving beyond a simple presentation-focused event.
