"Get Married at Seongnam Mulbit Garden" Seongnam City Adds New Public Wedding Venue
Three Venues, Including City Hall Park and Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute Dolteul Garden,
to Operate as "Seongnam Solomon Wedding Garden"
On December 18, Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has newly designated the Sky Garden at Seongnam Mulbit Garden in Gumi-dong, Bundang-gu, as a public wedding venue.
With this addition, Seongnam City now has a total of three public wedding venues: in front of the wall fountain at City Hall Park in Yeosu-dong, Jungwon-gu; the Stone Garden at the Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute in Yuldong, Bundang-gu; and the newly designated venue.
The newly designated Sky Garden at Seongnam Mulbit Garden is located on the rooftop of the music hall, which was built on the site of the former Gumi-dong sewage treatment plant (29,041 square meters).
With a total area of 180 square meters, it is suitable for hosting a "small wedding" with up to 80 guests.
Ceremonies can be held at the Sky Garden, and the lawn in front of the music hall can be used as a banquet space.
The city will provide comprehensive consulting for the entire wedding process-including ceremony management, production, catering, and convenience services-through wedding specialists selected via a public contest.
Weddings at the Sky Garden of the Seongnam Mulbit Garden Music Hall will be available starting from the second half of next year.
There is no separate venue rental fee. The wedding cost is around 10 million won for up to 80 guests, and between 10.1 million and 15.5 million won for up to 100 guests.
Reservations can be made online through the Seongnam City Hall website.
Applicants must be either an engaged couple or at least one parent from either family residing in Seongnam City.

As for the public wedding venues in front of the wall fountain at City Hall Park (no rental fee) and the Stone Garden at the Saemaul Undong Central Training Institute (rental fee: 313,500 won), which have been accepting reservations since October, ten weddings have already been booked for next year.
A Seongnam City official stated, "We have transformed the site of the former Gumi-dong sewage treatment plant, which had been neglected for 28 years, into a cultural complex for citizens, making it an ideal location for a unique public wedding venue." The official added, "The three public wedding venues will be collectively named 'Seongnam Solomon Wedding Garden,' meaning 'Outdoor Weddings for Wise and Blessed People,' and will be officially launched next year."
