Hwaseong Seohae Maru Youth Hostel, offering views of the West Sea, will officially open on the 20th at Gungpyeong Tourist Site in Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province.
The youth hostel is a youth training facility built on a 14,580-square-meter site within the Gungpyeong Tourist Site, featuring one basement floor and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 13,814 square meters.

View original imageThere are 103 guest rooms of various types, including double, quadruple, and six-person rooms, as well as family rooms, accommodating up to 358 people. The facility is open not only to youth but also to the general public. Family rooms are available in both studio and living room styles, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences, and simple cooking is possible in these rooms.
Room rates range from 90,000 to 180,000 won. According to the city, most rooms offer views of the West Sea, allowing guests to enjoy beautiful scenery such as sunsets.
The first floor of the building houses a lobby, a large auditorium, four conference rooms, and a book cafe, making it suitable for meetings and seminars. The second floor is equipped with facilities such as an augmented reality (AR) play area, a sports experience zone, a gaming space, and a coin karaoke room. A rooftop with views of the West Coast has also been prepared. In addition, various amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, convenience store, self-catering kitchen, and coin laundry are available.
To coincide with the opening, reservations will be accepted from 3 p.m. on the 13th through the official Seohae Maru Youth Hostel website, Agoda, and Booking.com. Hwaseong residents can make priority reservations through the official website starting at 3 p.m. on the 11th. Group reservations are accepted by phone.
To celebrate the opening, the city will offer a 20% discount on room rates from the 20th to the 31st. In addition, Hwaseong residents will receive a 10% discount, while schools, youth groups, and people with disabilities will be eligible for a 20% discount.
During the trial operation period conducted by the city last month, a total of 1,531 visitors used 454 rooms, resulting in an 85% room occupancy rate. In a satisfaction survey of guests, over 90% responded positively.
On the opening day, the 20th, there will be celebratory performances, facility tours, and a busking performance by singer-songwriter Jang Haeun.
