Going forward, citizens will be able to conveniently check their tax point balances and health insurance refunds through the Gukmin Secretary service.
On December 11, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it would expand the Gukmin Secretary service with 28 new offerings.
By using the Gukmin Secretary, users can receive notifications about essential daily information without having to visit each institution's website individually. If needed, online consultations are also available through the website.
The new services include 23 types of notifications, such as guidance on tax point balances, notifications of health and pension insurance refunds, notifications for the four major social insurance premiums, alerts for unpaid highway tolls, and early screening service information. Additionally, five new consultation services have been added, including information on the Korean History Proficiency Test and support guidance for small business owners.
An official from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety stated, "With the addition of services in areas that generate frequent public inquiries, such as taxes, health screenings, and examinations, we expect the practical usefulness of the service to increase significantly."
The Gukmin Secretary notification service can be applied for through the dedicated website or via 17 mobile apps, including KakaoTalk, Naver App, Toss, and various financial apps. Furthermore, by early next year, three new channels-Hyundai Card, Nonghyup Card, and Nonghyup Bank-will be launched sequentially to further enhance accessibility for the public.
Meanwhile, from December 12 to December 21, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will hold an event for those who apply for the new Gukmin Secretary notification services. During this period, 500 citizens who newly register for the Gukmin Secretary will be selected by lottery to receive mobile gift certificates.
