Yoon Chanho Holds Solo Exhibition at Gallery Jijihyang: 'Bongu contact'
Until January 11 Next Year
Concept artist Yoon Chanho's solo exhibition, 'Bongu contact,' is being held at Gallery Jijihyang in Publication City until January 11 next year.
This exhibition explores the worldview and narrative that the artist has built, under the theme of 'Bongu (逢遇) contact,' meaning 'encounter' and 'contact.' Yoon explained, "I focused on how scenes of accidental encounters generate new and strange emotions, and composed a pictorial story that connects the three worlds of 'strangeness, fear, and imagination' into one."
Yoon completes original images by intersecting past and present, merging humanity with vast nature, and blending familiar time-space with virtual worlds. His works are gaining attention as a genre that evokes new emotions and stories by combining the scenography of concept art used in game worldbuilding with narrative imagination.
He said, "A concept artist is not simply someone who depicts scenes, but a creator who establishes their own worldview through questions and exploration. If one can discover both aesthetic pleasure and a story in a single painting, that is the greatest joy."
