"Leading Youth Protection" ... Seongsan District of Changwon Special City Conducts Harmful Environment Prevention Campaign for Youth
Taking the Lead in Strengthening the Local Safety Net
Seongsan District in Changwon Special City, South Gyeongsang Province conducted a campaign at the end of the school term to protect youth and strengthen the local safety net.
The campaign, held on December 10, coincided with a period when the risk of youth engaging in delinquent behavior and being exposed to harmful environments increases after exams. In particular, the campaign aimed to address heightened public anxiety following recent incidents and to raise community awareness about the prevention of youth crime and victimization.
This campaign focused on on-site promotion, providing guidance to businesses, and educating citizens, particularly in the area around the Sangnam-dong Fountain Plaza and nearby districts where harmful establishments are concentrated.
In addition, the campaign delivered messages about youth protection to a broader range of citizens and reiterated to business owners the importance of prohibiting youth entry and preventing illegal activities.
Kim Sooyoon, Head of the Culture and Sanitation Division, stated, "We will actively work together with the local community to ensure that young people can live in a safe environment."
