The police began the investigation after receiving a report from Coupang on November 18 that it had confirmed damage from a personal information leak. In the early stages of the incident, Coupang reported that about 4,500 people were affected, but the number of leaked accounts has since increased to 33.7 million.
In addition, the police are also examining whether there has been any secondary damage as a result of the Coupang personal information leak. To this end, they have obtained server log records and other materials from Coupang and are tracking the IP addresses used in the crime.
