Established in 1988 and now in its 38th year, the Korea Management Awards recognize companies that demonstrate outstanding management capabilities and innovation achievements in various business sectors. This year, as AI-driven management innovation has emerged as a key issue across industries, the "AI Innovation" category was newly introduced.

GS Caltex was selected as the recipient of the Grand Prize in the AI Innovation category for its high evaluation in embedding digital and AI throughout its management via its Digital & AI Transformation (DAX) strategy, as well as for strengthening industrial competitiveness through field-oriented innovation. Following last year's Grand Prize in the DX Innovation category, the company has now been honored for two consecutive years by winning the Grand Prize in the AI Innovation category this year.

GS Caltex's DAX is a strategy in which digital and AI develop in a mutually complementary manner, aiming to transform the company into an AI-centric intelligent organization. Vice Chairman Huh Sehong personally coined the term DAX and has emphasized the active integration of AI technological capabilities with technical expertise. The company’s management has increased organizational receptiveness by directly participating in AI education and established a governance system that enables swift decision-making. In addition, GS Caltex is fostering on-site talent as data analysts and citizen developers through its Digital Academy, has introduced the in-house generative AI integrated platform AiU, and regularly holds "DAX Day" events to share field experiences, thereby spreading a culture of field-driven AI innovation.

Vice Chairman Huh stated, "How well a company utilizes AI and data determines its sustainable competitiveness," adding, "This award is the result of our efforts to create a field-driven, autonomous culture of AI utilization through our Digital & AI Transformation strategy. We will continue to shape the future of GS Caltex by innovating the way we work in smarter and more human ways through AI."
