View original imageThe city achieved remarkable success in 2025 by winning the Prime Minister's Award in the Safety Culture Grand Prize, the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in the Disaster Management Evaluation, and the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Award in the Ulchi Exercise Evaluation. In addition, Goyang Special City was selected as an excellent institution in the Integrated Defense Posture Establishment Evaluation.
Among these, Goyang Special City was the only local government among 243 metropolitan and basic municipalities to receive the Prime Minister's Award in the Safety Culture Grand Prize.
In the field of safety, the city promoted policies under the slogan "3°C (Care·Create·Cooperate) for a Safer Goyang Special City." These included fostering a safety culture that matures with children (Care), building a leading safe city through creative smart technology (Create), and establishing a safety community through cooperation among the public, private sector, and military (Cooperate).
In the field of security, Goyang Special City was recognized as an excellent institution for its contributions to establishing an integrated defense posture and raising national security awareness. These achievements included appointing the nation's first children's Dream Civil Defense Leaders, creating and operating a security and safety experience center for children, updating the city's integrated defense regulations for 2025, signing an agreement for joint use of CCTV footage with police and military, and concluding a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation with the military.
