Seoul Metro to Recruit 150 Subway Safety Assistants

Seoul Metro will recruit 150 subway safety assistants in the first half of next year. The employment period will run from January 19 to June 30, 2025.
Safety assistants will be responsible for maintaining order and ensuring safety at major congested subway stations. Introduced in 2023 as part of the Seoul Companion Job Program, this initiative has reduced safety accidents at assigned stations by 13.3%.
Starting with this recruitment, working hours have been standardized to 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In the mornings, "subway boarding assistants" will be deployed, while in the afternoons, "safety assistants" will be assigned. Applicants must be Seoul residents aged 18 or older, with a total family asset value of 499 million won or less, and a household income at or below 85% of the median income standard.
Applications will be accepted on-site from December 10 to 16 at the lecture room in front of the Customer Safety Office on the second basement level of Majang Station on Subway Line 5. Application hours are weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Final successful candidates will be announced on January 16, 2025.
