Gyeonggi Future Generation Foundation Holds Performance Sharing Meeting for Support Project for Young Adults with Borderline Intellectual Functioning on December 6
The Gyeonggi Future Generation Foundation held the "Performance Sharing Meeting for the Support Project to Enhance Work Competency of Young Adults with Borderline Intellectual Functioning" under the theme "My Own Step Toward the Future, One Year We Walked Together" on December 6 at the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government building in Suwon.
This year in June, the Gyeonggi Future Generation Foundation selected 76 young adults with borderline intellectual functioning from within the province and operated specialized education programs, including career consulting.
Young adults with borderline intellectual functioning do not meet the criteria for intellectual disability, but have an intelligence quotient lower than the average (typically IQ 70-84), which causes difficulties in learning and work performance. As they require repeated support for daily social adaptation, employment, and work-related learning, the need for systematic career and job training programs has been consistently raised.

Private companies and cooperatives also participated in the educational programs, jointly organizing major-specific job training and field-based work experience programs.
Of the 76 participants, 67 completed all courses, resulting in a completion rate of 88.2%.
