View original imageThis competition is a nationwide contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and organized by the National Information Society Agency (NIA). It was established to discover and promote cases of AI transformation and data-driven administrative innovation in the public sector.
The contest was held in two categories: 'Public Service Innovation,' which focuses on improving the quality of public services through AI and data analytics, and 'Administrative Efficiency,' which aims to enhance work procedures and administrative efficiency.
Deogyang-gu Public Health Center was selected as an outstanding case in the 'Administrative Efficiency' category for its 'AI Care Call Health Guardian Robot Safety Call' project. The center was highly evaluated for establishing and operating a three-stage AI-based smart safety network model tailored to local characteristics, in order to address the limitations of visiting nurse staff amid the increasing number of elderly people living alone.
The health center integrated AI's automatic well-being check function with a professional monitoring center's screening system, enabling rapid detection of crisis signs among the elderly and allowing visiting nurses to provide focused management services for high-risk individuals.
The 'AI Care Call Health Guardian Robot Safety Call' is a non-face-to-face telephone care service that does not require any device installation. AI collects health, daily life, and emotional information through everyday conversations and detects risk signals. Follow-up actions are coordinated between the monitoring center and the public health center, resulting in emotional well-being checks, prevention of solitary deaths, minimization of care gaps, and improved work efficiency.
