CJ ENM Wins Three Awards at AACA Including MAMA Awards and Gyunwoo and Seonnyeo
On December 5, CJ ENM announced that the popular music awards show "2024 MAMA Awards," the online video service (OTT) series "Study Group," and the drama "Gyunwoo and Seonnyeo" each won top honors in their respective categories at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA).
At the AACA held in Singapore the previous day, the global K-pop awards show "2024 MAMA Awards" received the Best General Entertainment Programme award. Last year, the MAMA Awards became the first K-pop awards ceremony to be held in the United States, and it was broadcast live to more than 200 regions worldwide, including a relay live broadcast from Osaka, Japan.
The Tving original series "Study Group," produced by Studio Dragon, won Best Original Production by a Streamer-Fiction. This comic action series follows Yoon Gamin, a student with no academic talent but exceptional fighting skills, as he forms a study group with the goal of entering college.
The drama "Gyunwoo and Seonnyeo," also produced by the same studio, won Best Comedy Programme. This romance drama centers on the story of a boy destined to die and a Millennial & Gen Z shaman girl who tries to prevent his fate, blending their narrative with the tale of first love among eighteen-year-olds.
The AACA is the largest awards ceremony in the Asia-Pacific region, recognizing achievements across all content sectors, including TV, film, and streaming, over the past year.
