This workshop was organized to share best practices in operating various academic achievement enhancement programs, including the ‘Creating a Self-Directed Learning School Culture’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Self-Directed Learning School’), which has been supported in schools throughout the year, and to explore strategies for 2026.

The workshop focused on disseminating outstanding field practices by presenting: △ best practices of Self-Directed Learning School by school level (middle and high school) △ best practices of the ‘Self-Directed Teacher’ tutoring accountability system △ best practices of the ‘Self-Directed, Self-Motivated, Self-Managed’ project △ best practices of the base-type boarding high school △ and the role of administrators in establishing a self-directed learning school culture. The emphasis was on practical models by school level, student-centered learning strategies, and tailored support methods.

By sharing real experiences of various academic support programs operated by middle and high schools in the province, the event aimed to strengthen the autonomy of field implementation and expand opportunities for mutual learning among schools. The Provincial Office of Education plans to further solidify the customized academic support system by school level next year and will continue to support the establishment of a learning culture where students grow independently.

Kim Seongrae, Director of Secondary Education, stated, “Based on the sharing of these best practices, we will develop more systematic academic support policies that reflect the needs of the school field and will continue to provide steady support so that the student growth-centered academic support system can be stably and sustainably operated on site.”
