Shinsegae Duty Free announced on December 5 that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Fliggy, an online travel service platform under Alibaba Group.
This agreement is noteworthy as it allows Shinsegae to potentially expand its scope of cooperation by working with other companies under the Alibaba Group in the future.

View original imageBy partnering with Fliggy, which has 500 million members annually, Shinsegae Duty Free aims to maximize its ability to attract Chinese tourists and accelerate the expansion of its global customer base.
Fliggy, established in 2016, is an online travel platform under Alibaba Group. It is a leading Chinese online travel service platform, offering more than 25,000 domestic and international flight routes, over 1.5 million hotel partnership products worldwide, and more than 8,000 theme park and tourist attraction products. In particular, Alibaba's premium paid membership, "88VIP" (about 56 million members), is considered a core customer group with high purchasing power and loyalty.
Through this agreement, Shinsegae Duty Free plans to provide tiered memberships and exclusive shopping benefits to Fliggy and 88VIP members. In addition, customized messages will be delivered at each stage of the travel journey, enabling Fliggy customers to discover and take advantage of Shinsegae Duty Free's benefits.
Shinsegae Duty Free also plans to continuously expand its contact points with global customers by linking with Alibaba's digital ecosystem in the future.
