These projects are expected to simultaneously support the preservation of Gyeongju's cultural heritage and the development of cutting-edge industries, making significant contributions to revitalizing the local economy and securing future growth engines.
Chairman Han Youngtae worked closely with National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik and Lim Mi-ae, a member of the National Assembly Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, actively persuading them of the importance of securing future growth engines for Gyeongju, strengthening industrial competitiveness, revitalizing the local economy, and preserving cultural heritage alongside innovative technological development.
As a result, the inclusion of these items in the budget was achieved, marking the first time a government budget has been secured by an out-of-parliament regional committee chairman in Gyeongju, which adds even greater significance to this accomplishment.
Chairman Han Youngtae stated that this achievement demonstrates the responsible political leadership and strong drive of the Democratic Party, emphasizing, "After the restoration of democracy, it is the duty of politics to give hope to the people through regional development."
He further commented, "Last year's December 3 Insurrection, which gravely shook democracy in Korea, left deep scars on the nation and society as a whole. However, through the resolute resistance of the people and the responsible response of the political community, democracy has once again set out on the path to recovery. Now, channeling that energy into regional development and fostering future industries has become the task of our era."
