A Place for Enhancing Physical and Mental Well-being through Forest Education and Healing
Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Byungsoo) announced on December 2 that this year's Forest Experience Program for Children and Forest Healing Program concluded successfully, attracting significant interest from citizens.
The Forest Experience Program for Children deployed forest education specialists, known as forest instructors for young children, at a total of seven locations within the city. The program offered high-quality forest education to infants, toddlers, and family groups, resulting in high satisfaction and enthusiastic responses from participants.
The Forest Healing Program, held at the Munsusan Forest Bathing Area, provided customized healing programs and experiential activities such as meditation, foot baths, tea drinking, and barefoot walking. These activities were tailored to participants of all ages, from young children to seniors, greatly contributing to their physical and mental well-being and helping to relieve stress.
This year, the cumulative number of participants in the Forest Experience Program for Children reached 29,350, while the Forest Healing Program recorded 3,750 participants. Both figures represent an increase compared to last year, serving as meaningful indicators of citizens' continued interest in and demand for these programs.
