View original imageOn December 2 at 2:00 p.m., Yeosu City announced on December 1 that it will hold a forum under the theme of "Problems and Solutions of Yeosu Tourism" at the Yeosu Venezia Hotel, with the participation of citizens and experts.
This forum is hosted by Yeosu City and organized by the Yeosu City Tourism Association. It aims to share the current issues facing Yeosu as a tourism city and future tourism strategies with citizens, and to discuss directions for sustainable tourism policies.
Local tourism industry workers, tourism experts, and citizens will participate together, making this forum a platform for open discussion where various opinions can be freely expressed to promote the growth of Yeosu tourism.
The discussion will be chaired by Director Lim Youngchan, with Seo Chaehun, Director of the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau of Yeosu City; Park Hyoyeon, Professor of Culture and Tourism Management at Chonnam National University; Jeong Sinchul, Vice Chairperson of the Planning and Administration Committee of the Yeosu City Council; Kim Gyeom, President of the Yeosu Small Business Association; and Kang Kyungwoon, President of the Hanryeo-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, participating as panelists.
With this forum, Yeosu City plans to gather opinions from various sectors ahead of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo and to focus on developing policies and response strategies to enhance its status as the tourism hub of the southern coast and adapt to changing tourism demand.

Mayor Jeong Kimyeong of Yeosu emphasized, "We will value the diverse opinions of our citizens and use them as a foundation for the future of Yeosu tourism," adding, "We will further strengthen public-private cooperation to build a tourism economy ecosystem that citizens can feel, and lay the groundwork for Yeosu's gradual leap forward as a global marine tourism and resort city."
