Seoul Bar Association to Hold "Legal Innovation Strategy Seminar for Enhancing Corporate Competitiveness"
Jointly Hosted with the Office of National Assemblyman Jang Kyungtae
The Seoul Bar Association (President Cho Soonyeol) announced on November 28 that it will hold the "Legal Innovation Strategy Seminar for Enhancing Corporate Competitiveness" in collaboration with the office of National Assemblyman Jang Kyungtae of the Democratic Party of Korea on December 1.
This seminar has been organized to encourage a shift in perspective regarding the rapidly expanding roles of legal affairs and compliance in the fast-changing corporate regulatory environment. Despite the expansion of legal affairs into a core function for companies amid regulatory changes such as the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, companies still tend to view related budgets solely as "costs."
In response, the Seoul Bar Association plans to use the seminar to analyze the effectiveness and investment nature of corporate legal budgets through various analyses and to explore future directions for policy and institutional improvements.
For the keynote presentation, attorney Lee Hyunjin will speak on the topic "Strategies for Utilizing Legal Budgets to Drive Corporate Growth," with attorney Ryu Yunkyo serving as moderator. The designated discussion will feature attorney Kang Inje from Kim & Chang, attorney Ko Sehun from Jipyong LLC, Kim Sejin, Director at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, attorney Kim Jinwook from Kwangjang LLC, and attorney Yoon Taeyoon (Auditor, Korean Bar Association). They will engage in an in-depth discussion on corporate legal risk management and policy incentives for compliance monitoring.
