Hwacheon County Selects 66 New Students for 'Hwacheon Learning Center,' Cradle of Local Talent
Hwacheon County to Begin Accepting Applications Starting December 8
The Hwacheon Talent Development Foundation in Hwacheon County, Gangwon Province (Chairman: Choi Moonsoon), will be selecting new students for the Hwacheon Learning Center for the first semester of 2026.
The total number of students to be admitted is 66, consisting of 13 rising ninth graders, 16 rising tenth graders, 16 rising eleventh graders, and 16 rising twelfth graders.
Students currently enrolled in middle or high schools in the Hwacheon area are eligible to apply if at least one parent or guardian has had their registered address and has been residing in Hwacheon County for more than six months.
Selection will be based on the combined results of Korean, mathematics, and English tests, as well as academic records and mock exam scores.
Applications can be submitted in person by visiting the administrative office on the first floor of the Hwacheon Learning Center from December 8 to December 15. Group applications by school are also accepted.
The entrance exam will take place at the Hwacheon Learning Center on December 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Successful candidates will be announced on January 8 next year on the Hwacheon County Office website and the Hwacheon Learning Center website.
Upon admission to the Hwacheon Learning Center, students can reside in the dormitory after school, receive instruction from renowned lecturers, and get support for career exploration and college entrance strategies.
Prior to the application period, the Hwacheon Talent Development Foundation will hold an orientation session for prospective students at 2 p.m. on December 6 in the multipurpose room of the Hwacheon Children's Library.
Applications to participate in the orientation session can be made by phone from December 1 to December 5.
The orientation session is open not only to students in the eligible grades but also to any students or parents interested in the Learning Center.
