Ministry of SMEs and Startups Selects 50 Companies for 2025 R&D Excellence
Technology Companies Including Fantalux and Pinobio
On November 27, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it held the "2025 SME R&D Excellence Sharing Event" at the President Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, and awarded ministerial commendations to 50 small and medium-sized enterprises that have achieved outstanding technological results over the past five years. This event was organized to promote the dissemination of the ministry's research and development (R&D) project outcomes and to facilitate exchanges among technology companies.
This year's "Top 50 SME R&D Achievements" included: ▲ 30 companies recognized for excellence in commercialization performance ▲ 10 companies securing global competitiveness in strategic technology fields ▲ 5 companies that successfully overcame crises and made a comeback ▲ 5 companies contributing to innovation in public services.
At the event, dedicated banks such as Industrial Bank of Korea and Hana Bank introduced financial and non-financial programs, including low-interest loans (with interest rate reductions of 2 to 2.3 percentage points), investment briefing sessions, support for entering job-specific recruitment platforms, and assistance with participation in overseas exhibitions. In addition, four companies with outstanding achievements shared their success stories.
Fantalux succeeded in mass-producing circuit technology that improves display luminance uniformity and power efficiency through the Commercialization Technology Development Project, achieving sales of 48.1 billion won. The company is strengthening its market competitiveness, recording a sales growth rate of 51.7% over the past three years by expanding cooperation with overseas gaming companies.
Pinobio developed optimized linker technology for next-generation antibody-drug conjugate manufacturing, attracting investments totaling 11.7 billion won and generating 2.1 billion won in technology fee revenue. This technology has been transferred to global companies such as Celltrion, increasing its commercialization potential.
Saesoltech faced a management crisis due to the shrinking feature phone market, but developed a terminal solution for communication security-a core technology in the autonomous driving sector-through the Startup Growth Technology Development Project, successfully securing 7.6 billion won in recent investments.

Argosdyne developed a fixed-station-based drone unmanned automatic operation system capable of performing special missions such as disaster response, security, and forest monitoring without pilot intervention. As a result of its R&D achievements, the company recorded 5.3 billion won in sales, 400 million won in exports, and 4.1 billion won in public sector sales, and was designated as an innovative product by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2023. The company is currently enhancing its technology by improving landing accuracy and miniaturizing stations, thereby expanding the potential for vehicle- and vessel-based applications.
