"Kimchi Day" Even International Students Put on Gloves... Silla University Lifelong Education Center Holds Kimchi-Making and Sharing Event

The Lifelong Education Center at Silla University (President Heo Namsik) held a kimchi-making and sharing event in celebration of Kimchi Day. Kimchi Day, designated as a legal commemorative day, falls on November 22 and was established to promote the value and excellence of kimchi.
On November 22, members of the Urban Agriculture Club from the 50+ Life Redesign College at Silla University's Lifelong Education Center hosted the "Kimchi-Making and Sharing Event," providing international students with the opportunity to experience kimchi-making and distributing food items such as ramen and instant rice.
About 40 participants, including Kim Sunseok, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, Kim Sangkwon, Head Professor of the 50+ Life Redesign College, faculty, graduates, and international students, gathered on the third floor of the Art Hall for the event, filling the room with laughter as they made kimchi together.
International students who took part in the activity shared their thoughts, saying, "Through this experience, we not only learned about the process of making kimchi, but also gained meaningful insights into Korea's diverse culture."
Kim Sunseok, Director of the Lifelong Education Center at Silla University, said, "I hope this was a valuable opportunity for international students who are unfamiliar with kimchi-making to experience traditional Korean culture firsthand."
Kim Sangkwon, Head Professor of the 50+ Life Redesign College, emphasized, "I hope the food items carefully prepared by the Urban Agriculture Club will be helpful to the students and serve as an opportunity to spread a warm year-end atmosphere throughout the local community."
